Matilda Dixon is an emerging artist based in Melbourne, working primarily in oil paint and mixed media. Raised in the Dandenong Ranges, her practice is informed by personal histories, local environments, and the subtle narratives embedded within everyday life.

Working from observation and photographic reference, Dixon explores themes of memory, belonging, and human connection through portraiture and depictions of architectural space. Her paintings combine expressive brushwork, layered surfaces, and experimental material processes to create images that sit between realism and abstraction.

Currently undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Dixon's work investigates how moments, places, and relationships can be preserved, transformed, and reimagined through paint.
